This idea was hatched up by me, Marie-Claire Andrews, newly resident in Carterton and working from home on Dakins Road. I helped start the angel network in Wellington, I ran FounderCon last year, I am the CEO of Morgo, running a community and conferences for high growth companies in NZ and Australia, co-own MakerSpace NZ and am the COO for the Event Tech Tribe out of the US.
I have been a banker for almost 10 years, run the finances for my family farm and also have just started a business with my husband as logging contractors. I am now looking for an opportunity for myself to run a business, especially one that is focused on enhancing Carterton. I've got big ideas for 3mile - meeting rooms, commuter packages..watch this space!
I have a background in Finance and Accounting and spent 10 years working in tax and corporate roles. Seven years ago I changed completely and moved into editorial and fine art photography. Here I developed a compulsive interest in human connection, storytelling, and visual marketing, in particular social media. I am currently freelancing in all digital marketing and social media alongside creating educational training channels and courses.
I’ve got over 25 years’ experience in sales and leadership roles. I built an IT Services company from $2million to $12 million over a few years in the United Kingdom, then went on to enjoy success managing multi-million dollar accounts. Istarted and built up a sales training company over 3 years, landed great clients and sold to an American company. In New Zealand I’ve held many roles including Co-Founder of Chilli Marketing, CEO of CapabilityNZ, Business Advisor with NZTE. I’m a mentor at the Lightning lab, working with a range of start-ups and currently work at Trade Me running sales for their financial tech business.
My graphic design career started in 1992 in my parent’s publishing business in Hawke's Bay. I built a design agency, winning the inaugural top Hawke’s Bay Advertising Award for our work developing the brand for Hastings. Me and my partner Brendan, moved to Wellington in 2003 and I became a Graphic Design tutor at Natcoll (now Yoobee School of Design), I continued on to become the HoD and Assistant Principal. I returned to the design industry in 2005 - for Baseline in Lower Hutt as Production Manager, and then to a senior role at Promotus Advertising in Wellington. The permanent move to the Wairarapa came in 2014, as we already owned a “weekender” in Carterton, it seemed the obvious path to take. Since then I have been working from home, as AskPeter Visual Communication Design. askpeter.co.nz

Never let it be said we don't live our values - we're a team of relative strangers, recently come together to co-create the co-working space! There's a lot to do - and we need as much help as we can get. If you can spare minutes, hours, days or ongoing time to bring this to life, get in touch!
