Marie-Claire Andrews

This idea was hatched up by me, Marie-Claire Andrews, newly resident in Carterton and working from home on Dakins Road.  I helped start the angel network in Wellington, I ran FounderCon , I was the CEO of Morgo, running a community and conferences for high growth companies in NZ and Australia, co-owned MakerSpace NZ and founded the Event Tech Tribe in the US. Currently the President of the Association for Women in Events, I also have a day job with the Wairarapa Economic Development Strategy team.

My graphic design career started in 1992 in my parent’s publishing business in Hawke's Bay. I built a design agency, winning the inaugural top Hawke’s Bay Advertising Award for our work developing the brand for Hastings. Me and my partner Brendan, moved to Wellington in 2003 and I became a Graphic Design tutor at Natcoll (now Yoobee School of Design), I continued on to become the HoD and Assistant Principal. I returned to the design industry in 2005 - for Baseline in Lower Hutt as Production Manager, and then to a senior role at Promotus Advertising in Wellington.  The permanent move to the Wairarapa came in 2014, as we already owned a “weekender” in Carterton, it seemed the obvious path to take. Since then I have been working from home, as AskPeter Visual Communication Design. askpeter.co.nz
